Walk through Josefov, Prague Jewish district and formerly the largest Jewish ghetto in Europe. The tour embraces the history, traditions, and legends of the Jewish people in Prague, from their early settlements in the 10th century, through their enforced isolation, the poverty of the pogrom refugees, and the horrors of the 20th century.
Importantly, we find out about the everyday life of the Jewish people through the ages; how they lived, worked and survived in the Jewish Quarter (Josefov), of their successes and of their failures.
This tour is led by Wittmann Tours- Czech Jewish Guide Service guides who specialize in Jewish history and heritage and whose passion for the subject stems from their personal and family stories. The guides are absolute experts in conveying the long and rich history of the Jewish people in Prague and Central Europe.
